Biathlon-style competition to combine fitness with rifle, pistol shooting in Crawford | Greater Waco

With rifles on their backs and pistols in their holsters, more than 200 people will run the streets of Crawford this weekend.

Law enforcement officials are unconcerned, though, with the athletes participating in a fundraiser modeled on a biathlon.

Waco Tactical Fitness, a nonprofit organization founded in 2014, will host events Saturday and Sunday in which participants will shoot at targets at several stations on private property in Crawford. Public streets and city property are incorporated into the running routes between the stations.

About 150 people will participate in a 10K with seven shooting stations Saturday, and about 85 are signed up for a 5K with six shooting stations Sunday.
