BOYS’ PREP SOCCER: Pollock, Green Wave have work cut out for them this season (08/13) | High School Sports

The Meade County Green Wave have their work cut out for them and Coach Matt Pollock is just fine with that.

In his 15th year as the boss and 21st with the program, Pollock has a team he likes, but is different.

“It is a little bit of a challenge seeing how young we are across the board,” he said. “We don’t have a vocal group of seniors, but they are hard workers and want to do well.”

Since being moved to the 11th District and 3rd Region in 2012, the Green Wave were defeated by Daviess County (2012-15) and Owensboro last year in the region tournament.

“Winning seasons are something we expect to have every year,” Pollock remarked. “We want to win district championships and really want to get into the regional championship game. We’ve taken some serious hits in the 3rd Region the last three years – Owensboro and Daviess County lit us up. I would like to take care of business when we face them this year.”
