Weight loss: Eating MUSHROOMS could help you feel less hungry | Food | Life & Style

A scientific study found that people who ditched meat in favour of mushrooms felt less hungry for longer.

Researchers say eating a mushroom-rich breakfast staves off hunger pangs and leads to a greater feeling of fullness compared to a meat breakfast such as bacon or sausages.

The study assessed differences in fullness among volunteers who ate a diet rich in white button mushrooms and those who eat mainly meat.

Participants included 17 women and 15 men who consumed two servings of mushrooms or meat for 10 days.

They were given either sliced mushrooms or 93 per cent lean/7-percent fat ground beef to consume.
